About the Opportunity
At Contentful, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible with digital content. We're seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Marketplace Ecosystem team and help us shape the future of content management. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our App Marketplace, including building in-house apps, improving external developer contributions, and enhancing the app framework. Your expertise in creating seamless, intuitive developer experiences will directly contribute to Contentful's growth and customer engagement.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to understand and address the needs and challenges of our customers and partners. Your goal will be to develop innovative solutions that improve productivity and satisfaction, leveraging modern full-stack development trends, tooling, and maintaining public open-source libraries. You'll collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for developer products, and contribute to the development and improvement of tools that allow apps to customize Contentful to meet user and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and build improvements to the Contentful App Marketplace, from usability and developer experience to security hardening to accessibility.
- Find process improvements and technical solutions to external contributions, reducing friction to contribution without concessions to security and user confidence.
- Design and implement strategies that improve Contentful's developer user experience.
- Build tools and frameworks that streamline the end-to-end development process.
- Identify and develop product enhancements to maximize the platform's extensibility.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces for developer products.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software development experience.
- Enjoy building high-quality products and services using TypeScript, Node.js, and React.
- Knowledgeable about modern front-end frameworks and tools and can thoughtfully advocate for their use while understanding when it's best to maintain existing solutions.
- Have experience and interest in software infrastructure and tooling, such as AWS, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
- Communicate effectively and is passionate about collaboration, pair programming, and mentoring others.
- Courage to share knowledge and become the mentor that others need for success.
