Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. As a Patient Care Technician, you will provide high-quality patient care under the direction of licensed staff and within the scope of defined practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient care services, including vital sign monitoring, wound care, and medication administration.
  • Assist with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Participate in shared nursing leadership to achieve positive outcomes and promote patient-centered care.
Working Conditions

As a Patient Care Technician, you will work in a well-lighted, ventilated, and air-conditioned area. You may be exposed to unpleasant odors, sights, and sounds. You will be required to stand for long periods, move heavy objects, and risk exposure to disease, infection, and physical strain.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Certification and/or eligibility for the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry or NHA certification as a Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • Computer skills and ability to maintain required CEUs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Registration on the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry or NHA certification as a Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification.
