The Special Education Attendant will work closely with the supervising teacher to support the educational and behavioral needs of students with special needs. This role requires a high level of patience, understanding, and adaptability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Student Learning: Assist students with special needs in reinforcing concepts and curriculum as assigned by the teacher.
- Behavioral Support: Help supervise students regarding appropriate behavior and implement individual student behavior plans.
- Mobility and Hygiene Support: Assist students with mobility needs, person hygiene, feeding, and toileting needs.
- Communication Support: Assist students with the use of communication devices.
- Monitoring and Data Collection: Monitor student behavior and assist with the collection of student performance data.
- Teamwork and Confidentiality: Work cooperatively as a member of an educational team and maintain confidentiality of all information related to students.
Requirements:
- Age and Education: Must be at least 18 years old and have a High School Diploma.
- Certifications and Background Check: Satisfactory background check and pass drug screening.
