MRI Technologist

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist produces high-quality MRI scans, collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians, and ensures exceptional patient care standards.
This role requires the ability to provide care based on physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety needs of patients.
Main Responsibilities- Perform MRI cross-sectional imaging and other related procedures as directed by a licensed physician.
- Operate and monitor MRI equipment, program the machine to the proper voltage, current, and desired exposure time.
- Explain testing procedures to patients, position and instruct them on preparation for the MRI test.
- Monitor patients' conditions before and after scans to ensure safety and comfort.
- Administer contrast media accurately under the direction of a radiologist.
- Enforce magnetic field safety for MRI patients, operators, and visitors.
- Maintain patient logs, equipment service manuals, delivery schedules, and related statistics.
- Deliver quality patient care and services in accordance with regulated standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Knowledge of all contrast media used in MRI, including dosage, precautions, adverse reactions, and examination appropriateness.
- Problem-solving skills to effectively handle radiographic MRI technical occurrences.
- A thorough knowledge of 3D anatomy and imaging planes as required by the radiologist.

The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 25% of the time, move objects up to 50 pounds occasionally, and work independently to identify potentially more effective methods of work operations.
