Job Overview

We are currently in search of dedicated, trustworthy, and safety-oriented professionals to fill the role of Heavy Machinery Technician. In this position, you will be tasked with the prompt and efficient upkeep, diagnostics, and repair of a variety of heavy machinery brands and models. This encompasses electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical troubleshooting, management of parts inventory, procurement, documentation, and scheduling.

This position involves outdoor work in diverse weather conditions. We maintain strict compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations in the Metals Recycling sector.

Key Responsibilities of a Heavy Machinery Technician:

  • Execute basic to moderately complex diagnostic, troubleshooting, and repair activities for fuel, electrical, mechanical, brake, cooling, and hydraulic systems across various machinery.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks (such as oil and filter changes, lubrication, brake servicing, etc.) on all heavy machinery in accordance with manufacturer and company guidelines.
  • Keep precise service records for all tasks completed.
  • Order and oversee spare parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with yard General Managers to arrange routine or urgent maintenance or repairs.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Guarantee the safe and proper utilization of assigned vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Conduct all duties in full adherence to safety and environmental protocols.

Qualifications for a Heavy Machinery Technician:

  • A vocational or technical degree is highly preferred.
  • Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and diesel maintenance is strongly desired.
  • Willingness to work in varying weather conditions is essential.
  • Must successfully pass a drug screening, physical examination, and background check.
  • Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) are advantageous.
