Bridge Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Bridge Engineer to join our team of transportation professionals servicing state and municipal clients in Maine, New Hampshire, and throughout New England.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Perform bridge design and analysis.
  • Develop design plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates.
  • Prepare, check, and deliver engineering calculations, reports, and technical studies.
  • Build a strong culture of quality design and teamwork.
  • Assist with occasional bridge inspection and load rating assignments.
  • Carry out constructability reviews during the design of conventionally procured projects.
Qualifications
  • Experience with MaineDOT, NHDOT, and/or VTrans design standards and practices.
  • Experience with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications is desired.
  • Effective verbal, visual, and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MicroStation, MathCAD, Inroads, & Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using bridge design and analysis software (Merlin-Dash, CSiBridge, STAAD, AASHTOware, LPile, Group, LEAP-steel/concrete, etc.) is desired.
  • Experience with bridge inspection and load rating is desired.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Master's degree in Structural Engineering desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer required.

This is a full-time position that will primarily be in an office setting; may require some field work. The ability to work part-time from home will be extended to the candidate once in-office working relationships are established.
