Are you an experienced Electrical Estimator specializing in commercial projects? Amber Electrical Contractors Inc is looking for a talented individual to contribute to our estimating team and help us deliver accurate and competitive bid proposals for a variety of commercial and industrial undertakings.

In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing proposal specifications and drawings, participating in pre-bid discussions, and collaborating with the Estimating team to ensure the precision of our bids. Your expertise will be essential in enhancing profitability and effectively managing costs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project proposals and requirements to generate precise electrical estimates for commercial and industrial endeavors.
- Leverage your knowledge of electrical systems, particularly in low-voltage estimating.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and team scope reviews to fully grasp project specifications, even when information is limited.
- Conduct site visits and meetings at construction locations within the region.
- Thoroughly review all project bid documents.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors by sourcing, notifying, and providing bid information for external work quotations.
- Complete estimated takeoffs within designated timeframes using computer estimating tools.
- Prepare change order estimates for awarded projects as necessary.
- Collaborate with fellow estimators and various company divisions throughout the estimating process.
- Finalize estimates within deadlines and engage in team reviews with management on bid day.
- Maintain daily communication with subcontractors and vendors to ensure clarity and collaboration.
- Assess subcontractor and vendor bids for completeness, adherence to schedules, compliance with specifications, and other bid criteria.
- Conduct value engineering analyses to align with client interests.
- Develop detailed scope of work narratives for each project.
- Support field operations with estimates post-bid award during project closeout.
- Draft proposal letters that outline the scope of work, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications, ensuring adherence to proposal deadlines.
- Anticipate estimating needs even with limited information available.
- Consistently follow up with clients for feedback on bids/proposals and report outcomes to management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and safety standards, reporting any discrepancies to the Chief Estimator.
- Assist in the bid process and review final bids with the Estimating Staff.
- Support the VP of Pre-Con as required.
- Attend project meetings and perform site investigations as assigned.
- Embrace and adhere to the Estimating Process and Procedures along with Amber's CORE Values.

Qualifications:
To succeed in this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this role:
- Must successfully clear background and drug screening.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience estimating commercial and/or industrial projects.
- Field experience in electrical and low-voltage systems is advantageous.
- Familiarity with estimating projects valued at $3M and above is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the electrical field, including materials and construction methods.
- Understanding of the N.E.C and local codes.
- Proficient in ConEst and IntellBid estimating software.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Programs (e.g., Excel, Word) and comfortable with spreadsheets and computerized on-screen takeoff programs.
- Maintain a value-added approach to estimating.
- Produce accurate, timely, and competitive estimates with minimal data.
- Excellent communication skills with clients, vendors, subcontractors, general contractors, and owners.
- Ability to stay organized while multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Adaptability to company estimating policies and procedures.
- Willingness to work overtime occasionally to meet bid response deadlines.
- Reliable transportation is essential.

Compensation:
$80,000 - $125,000 yearly
