Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at HHS. As a key member of our culinary operations, you will be responsible for developing and managing a highly trained and driven team that produces high-quality food that meets food and work safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Protect the quality and integrity of all food produced in the food and nutrition department
  • Manage inventory, ordering, production planning, schedules, payroll, and supplies to ensure budget compliance for the department
  • Develop creative menus for the facility's cafeteria and catering programs that are in sync with current market trends
  • Create an atmosphere in the department that fosters great team morale, passion for quality, and respect for each other
  • Hire and train new team members in a manner that sets them up to be fully competent and passionate about our food programs
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines

Requirements:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree from an accredited culinary program is preferred
  • In lieu of formal culinary training, a minimum of 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef or a Chef in fine dining establishments, hotels, resorts, and/or country clubs
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Fully competent with Microsoft Office, ordering platforms, and email communications
  • A passion for food, a desire to grow, and a work ethic that supports both
