We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative II to join our team in the Evening shift. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring accurate patient registration, and maintaining compliance with financial and cash control policies.
Key Responsibilities- Greet customers and provide world-class customer service, adhering to Conifer Standards of Care.
- Complete full patient registration at date of service, ensuring accurate and complete demographic information.
- Adhere to financial and cash control policies, thoroughly explaining and securing hospital and patient legal forms.
- Scan protected health information, create and file patient information packets/folders for upcoming hospital services.
- Assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures, enter data in scheduling systems, and provide customers with appointment instructions.
- Educate patients about patient financial liabilities, employ proper and compliant patient liability collection techniques.
- Perform hospital cash reconciliation and secure payment entry in adherence to financial and cash control policies.
- Secure medical necessity checks/verification in accordance with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid services, verify insurance, benefits, coverage, and eligibility.
- Complete assigned registration financial clearance work lists activities, obtain insurance authorizations for scheduled and unscheduled hospital services.
- Secure inpatient visit notification to payors and assist with scheduling and coordinating post-discharge care for patients.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0-1 year in a customer service role, with administrative experience in a medical facility, health insurance, or related area preferred.
- Some college coursework is preferred.
- Must be able to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods, occasionally lift/carry items weighing up to 25 lbs, and work in a fast-paced environment.
The work environment is a hospital administration setting, with potential exposure to life-threatening patient conditions. Must be available to work hours and days as needed based on departmental/system demands.
