Medical Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Hair By Ester. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our stylists and ensuring the highest quality of service for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare necessary information (lab and procedural results), exam supplies, and equipment
  • Prepare patients for examinations
  • Perform patient care, vital signs, and assist with medication administration, injections, and other necessary tests
  • Transmit prescription refills according to established practice protocols
  • Perform and collect waived testing (urine dipstick, hCG, glucose testing)
  • Conduct phlebotomy, prepare laboratory specimens, and send specimens to appropriate labs
  • Perform EKGs
  • Accurately report and refer patient concerns and symptoms to licensed personnel
  • Schedule follow-up appointments and specialty appointments
  • Maintain and clean exam rooms and work areas
  • Respond to patient inquiries and/or referring physicians in a timely manner
  • Perform wound care and change dressings
  • Provide front office services as needed
Qualifications
  • Completion of accredited medical assistant certification with the requirements as specified by the Medical Board of California
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a patient care setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • An empathic bedside manner
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems; experience with Athena is a plus
