Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Aid Coordinator to join our team at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine. As a key member of our Office of Financial Aid, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional support to our current and prospective students throughout their academic journey.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to oversee all aspects of student financial aid administration, ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal requirements and regulations. Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the student experience and empowering them to achieve their academic goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Support: Assist and advise students on various aspects of financial aid, including federal, state, and institutional options, as well as outside sources. Research available options and discuss eligibility criteria, explaining policies and procedures as needed.
  • Communication: Disseminate information about sources of financial aid and our institution's process to current and prospective students, responding to inquiries by phone, email, or in-person.
  • Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP): Monitor and evaluate student SAP, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
  • Return to Title IV Calculations: Assist with calculations for students who withdraw or are dismissed.
  • ISIR and Financial Aid Applications: Review ISIR and financial aid applications, resolving any conflicting information and determining student eligibility based on data analysis and guidelines.
  • Award Packaging and Notifications: Utilize professional judgment to adjust student eligibility based on mitigating circumstances, prepare award notifications, and ensure compliance with federal statutes.
  • Counseling and Reporting: Perform financial aid counseling for students, including exit counseling, and assist with reporting needs, analyzing data to verify compliance and eligibility.
  • TITLE IV Program Administration: Administer the aid under the Title IV program, establishing and maintaining records required by the Higher Education Act.
  • Conflicting Information Resolution: Identify and resolve conflicting information with NSLDS regarding identity, awards, and default.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, plus at least 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience: Previous experience in osteopathic or allopathic medical college financial aid administration is preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to student financial assistance; strong oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to problem-solve, analyze, and evaluate data and complex regulations.
  • Organizational and Planning Skills: Strong organizational and planning skills, with a commitment to high-quality work and attention to detail.
