Key Responsibilities- Analyze and abstract information from inpatient medical records to assign accurate ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS codes
- Assign DRG classifications for appropriate hospital reimbursement
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS coding guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and compliant coding practices
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in coding and reimbursement
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two years inpatient coding experience required
- DRG experience using ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 PCS required
- Ability to pass Einstein's coding examination required
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills required
- Familiarity with multiple computer systems used in the HIM Department preferred
