Physical Therapist Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our Home Care Team in the Central Territory of St. Louis. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work closely with our Physical Therapists to provide high-quality patient care and support in the home environment.
Responsibilities- Assist Physical Therapists in data collection, including tests and measurements, and communicate status updates within scope of practice.
- Implement therapy plans of care for assigned patients, including performance of therapy procedures and related tasks delegated by supervising Physical Therapist.
- Progress treatment techniques and procedures as patient's status and functional potential changes in conjunction with therapy plan of care.
- Identify, respond, and report changes in patient's physical/mental status and/or tolerance to treatment to supervising Physical Therapist.
- Coordinate treatment program with other clinical/therapeutic services and community resources, attending clinical meetings as needed.
- Provide patient education, including development of comprehensive and progressive home programs, and instruct patient, family, and caregivers as appropriate.
- Prepare for patient discharge, including ordering and fabrication of necessary equipment, and recommendations for therapeutic services.
- Assist with direction of functional training classes and/or programs under supervision of licensed Physical Therapist.
- Assign routine tasks to aides and clerical staff related to job function in conjunction with supervising Physical Therapist.
- Manage individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions based on patient care needs, demonstrating flexibility in caseload management.
- Complete medical record documentation in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner, ensuring care is provided under signed, valid physician orders and within insurance approval.
- Participate in therapy assistant student program as assigned, providing a positive learning environment for students with appropriate supervision.
- Actively create individualized professional development plan with clinical management, identifying and initiating own professional growth through continuing education and self-study.
- Participate in patient and professional advocacy efforts, adhering to discipline-specific State Practice Act and other regulatory agencies.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant required.
- Certified BLS or completion in first 90 days of employment required.
- One or more years of clinical experience.
- Valid state Driver's License.
