The Clinical Support Technician II is an essential member of the Perioperative Preop Care Unit, dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care in a dynamic environment.
Work Schedule: Day Shift: 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 40 hours per week, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package.
Mission: Our Pre- and Post-Operative Care Units strive to provide top-notch, family-centered care to pediatric and adult patients requiring anesthesia during surgical procedures. We focus on standardizing care and processes to enhance patient and employee satisfaction, serving approximately 22,000 inpatients and ambulatory patients each year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare professionals during routine examinations and procedures, ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
- Monitor patient care documentation, promptly reporting any significant changes in patient conditions to registered nurses or physicians.
- Perform various clerical tasks, including organizing workloads, directing visitors, and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Conduct routine quality assurance audits and safety checks, managing inventory of supplies.
- Support clinical operations by maintaining a clean work environment, troubleshooting equipment issues, and assisting in the orientation of new staff.
- Provide direct personal care to patients as outlined in their care plans, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Measure and document vital signs, assist with specimen collection, and perform other clinical tasks as required.
- Reinforce patient education provided by healthcare professionals and ensure patient understanding of care instructions.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Must be listed as Nursing Assistant II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certifications are mandatory.
- One year of clerical or customer service experience, along with six months of relevant nursing assistant experience.
- Fluency in verbal and written English is essential.
