We're seeking a skilled Mechanic II Specialist to join our team at Jackson County. As a key member of our Public Works department, you'll play a vital role in maintaining our infrastructure and ensuring the reliability of our equipment.

About the Role:

  • Operate and maintain specialized maintenance equipment, including handheld tools and power equipment.
  • Perform asset and infrastructure improvements, as well as manual labor as needed.
  • Inspect machines, engines, and transmissions, and run diagnostic tests to identify functionality issues.
  • Conduct repairs to maximize equipment reliability and troubleshoot reported problems in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related industry or craft.
  • Must complete Division-specific training as directed.
  • Must obtain a Class B Missouri Commercial Driver's License with air brake endorsement within six months of hire.
  • Heavy lifting required, sometimes exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of Hydraulics, DEF systems, and electrical systems.
  • Additional qualifications may be required based on department needs.
