Position Overview: An exciting opportunity exists for an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant) within the Department of Surgery at District Medical Group. This role involves full-time employment dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and educational support within the Valleywise Health Care System.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive history and physical assessments of patients.
  • Engage in hospital rounds and prepare daily progress documentation as required.
  • Execute patient orders as directed by supervising physicians.
  • Analyze and discuss medical imaging and laboratory results with attending physicians and healthcare team members.
  • Assist in minor and major surgical procedures in the operating room as assigned.
  • Support continuity of care by maintaining knowledge of all patients on service and consult lists.
  • Facilitate resident education and continuity of care for patients, addressing nursing inquiries regarding service patients.
  • Coordinate the operative schedule for both elective and urgent procedures.
  • Act as a liaison with other medical services, responding to pages and phone calls, and taking appropriate actions for patient care under supervision.
  • Be available for on-call duties as needed, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, as mutually agreed upon.
