Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Direct Support Professional III - Active Treatment Coordinator to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and organize leisure activities for individuals served, ensuring they are age-appropriate, meaningful, and aligned with their individualized goals.
• Monitor and ensure that individuals have access to a variety of quality leisure opportunities on campus and in the local community.
• Provide information to individuals and responsible staff regarding activities being offered on and off campus.
• Follow up with individuals and staff to verify the quality of activities and services, and make adjustments as needed to better meet individual needs and preferences.
• Prepare and provide feedback reports to the Active Treatment Coordinator Supervisor regarding the ongoing monitoring of activities and services offered.
• Work closely with the Active Treatment Coordinator Supervisor and Recreation Program Manager to ensure seamless coordination of services.
• Maintain inventory and order recreational supplies for each home in their assigned unit.
• Develop and implement imaginative ideas to engage individuals in meaningful and functional activities.
• Monitor scheduled activities to ensure the quality delivery of active treatment services.
Requirements:
• Ability to make decisions and use good judgment in critical incidents.
• Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
• Ability to demonstrate proper body mechanics, good posture, and proper lifting techniques.
• Knowledge of individual care techniques and treatment, therapy, and developmental programs.
• Ability to provide individual care, administer first aid and/or CPR, and conduct Safe Use of Restraint (SUR).
• Ability to communicate effectively and train/mentor/coach others.
• Ability to work effectively with others and as a member of a team.
