Job Summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Surgical Oncology/MART team. As a LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or other assigned supervisor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and communicate patient data to assist in assessment and care planning
  • Participate as a member of the healthcare team and accept delegation from the RN/assigned supervisor and provider
  • Deliver care in accordance with patient care plans, policies, and procedures
  • Provide routine care for patients, including vital sign collection and wound care
  • Assist physicians and registered nurses with patient care
  • Communicate with patients and their families
  • Perform standard diagnostic procedures, including EKG and phlebotomy
Working Conditions

Working conditions may involve exposure to infectious disease, blood, body fluids, and other unpleasant elements. May be exposed to and required to handle varying unpredictable, emergency, and crisis situations.

Qualifications

Must possess or be eligible to obtain a license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in New York State. Acute care, phlebotomy, EKG, and/or IV experience is preferred.
