Job Title: RHOAR Shift Supervisor

Job Summary:

The RHOAR Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of clients at all times. This includes performing safety checks, monitoring behavior, and enforcing rules and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

* Monitor and ensure all policies and procedures are followed by clients and shift staff
* Contact appropriate supervisor when issues arise
* Ensure all parties are contacted when clients arrive or are discharged
* Maintain storage order and storage documentation
* Ensure room searches are done on each shift
* Ensure camera system and phones are monitored at all times
* Ensure safety of all clients in the facility
* Ensure all intakes are done properly and in a timely manner
* Ensure all RHOAR equipment is stored properly when used for intake, drug screens, cleaning, etc.
* Maintain client confidentiality, privacy, and demonstrate ethical behavior at all times
* Adhere to all policies and procedures
* Provide information to potential clients and referral sources/database inputs
* Conduct initial screenings and may be required to maintain waiting lists
* Transport clients as needed
* Initiate file on each new client upon admission. Keep file documentation up to date, including progress notes, census forms, discharge sheets, staff notes, and other documentation as necessary
* Monitor and document client vital signs
* Monitor the general health of clients, including distressed withdrawal, and refer to outside services when necessary
* Take appropriate action in crisis situations (violence or threats of violence; suicide and threats of suicide; natural disasters; and health crisis situations when EMS or 911 is necessary)
* Perform safety checks on all beds every hour
* Participate in all scheduled trainings and meetings
* Complete all required shift documentation
* Other duties as required

* Ability to work well with people of all races, backgrounds, and needs
* Ability to work as part of a comprehensive community mental health team and to positively represent the agency in the community
* Knowledgeable of the stages in recovery for behavioral health and/or chemical dependency

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions or may be off-site from normal office location.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

Environmental Data and Job Hazards:

* Hours of work may be subject to irregular and/or flexible hours based on needs or demands.
* Position may require duties to include routine or reasonable anticipated tasks or procedures where there is a degree of actual or potential exposure to blood or other infectious materials.
* All staff are required to participate in yearly trainings regarding infection control and safety in the environment, including hazardous waste and blood-borne pathogens.
* All new staff must attend training regarding handling physical, verbal threats, acts of violence, or other escalating and potential dangerous situations, including when police need to be summoned.
* All staff must be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation within one month of employment and maintain the certification, if providing direct care.
