Electronics Product Engineer Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team at Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company as an Electronics Product Engineer. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the development of new electronics products into production.

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating designs for manufacturability, developing manufacturing documentation, and providing technical leadership on internal and external projects. They will also be responsible for solving manufacturing problems, investigating process failures, and implementing corrective actions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering, with experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies. They will also have knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and systems, CAD, 3-D modeling, assembly creation, drawings, and GD&T.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate designs for manufacturability and develop manufacturing documentation
  • Provide technical leadership on internal and external projects
  • Solve manufacturing problems, investigate process failures, and implement corrective actions
  • Develop automated test fixtures and assembly tools
  • Develop layouts of manufacturing cell design, including tooling, machinery, and equipment
  • Creation of Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
  • Technical compliance and risk assessment
  • Creating standard work and contributing to manufacturing cell planning
  • Tracking status and ensuring completion of operations milestones and tasks for production programs
Requirements:
  • BS/MS in an engineering discipline, preferably mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in multi-part mechanisms and mechanical assemblies
  • Knowledge of space vehicle mechanisms and systems
  • CAD, 3-D modeling, assembly creation, drawings, and GD&T
  • Design of tooling and fixtures
  • Design for Manufacturing methods and techniques
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Formal problem analysis and resolution
  • Project management skills
  • Working with aerospace products and processes
  • Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing practices
  • Enterprise/Manufacturing Resource Planning (ERP/MRP) systems
  • MS Office- Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Familiar with and able to work in MS Project
