About the Role

At WSFS Bank, we are committed to empowering our associates to grow their careers and supporting our customers in securing their financial futures. As a Commercial Credit Analyst, you will play a critical role in our commercial lending team, responsible for performing underwriting steps associated with commercial credits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Analysis: Utilize spreading software to spread financial information from financial statements or tax returns, review and analyze business financial statements and individual tax returns to prepare credit requests.
  • Credit Memorandum Preparation: Prepare credit memos and financial ratio reports to be submitted to the appropriate lending authority, including Senior Loan Committee, for approval.
  • Loan Approval and Risk Mitigation: Approve loans within credit authority, identify and mitigate risks, and support the presentation of credit package.
  • Team Support: Provide support to Commercial Lending Teams and the Relationship Manager as needed.
  • Due Diligence: Work closely with the Loan Documentation team to ensure all due diligence is acceptable prior to loan closings.
  • Training and Development: Assist with teaching newer associates system applications and proper underwriting procedures.
  • Customer Interaction: Travel to Customers and various WSFS locations, as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in finance or accounting or equivalent work experience.
  • Background: A background in finance and accounting which provides a basis for commercial loan underwriting and analysis, including the review and interpretation of client financial statements and tax returns, review and understanding of data in both personal and business bureaus.
  • Experience: Must have a minimum of 2-4 years of commercial credit underwriting experience including a strong background of reviewing personal and business financial statements.
  • Skills: Must have strong analytical skills, strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Collaboration: Must be an independent thinker in collaboration with other professionals and be able to structure a loan request while maintaining the credit quality dictated by bank policy.
