Scientific Research Position at SGS

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Seasonal Laboratory Technician to join our team at SGS. As a key member of our scientific research department, you will play a crucial role in preparing samples for analysis, adhering to strict quality control standards, and maintaining accurate laboratory records.

About the Role

This part-time position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, collaborating with experienced professionals to achieve daily production targets and meet critical deadlines. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of samples according to SGS' SOPs using basic instrumentation and analytical methodologies
  • Routine operation, maintenance, and calibration of prep instruments/equipment
  • Input and maintenance of technical information to support laboratory functions/operations
  • Maintenance of Laboratory Notebook where applicable
  • Adherence to internal standards, policies, and procedures

Requirements:

Education and Experience
  • 0-2 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratories or biological laboratory or prior experience working with one's hands (Required)
  • High School Degree preferred but not required (Preferred)
Licenses and Certifications

No certifications required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Language Skills: English
  • Mathematical Skills: High
  • Reasoning Skills/Abilities: High
  • Computer Skills: High

Estimated Salary Range: $40,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This is a part-time position with a fixed hour shift during the day.
