We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Cook to join our culinary team at Liberty Bay Recovery Center. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing delicious and nutritious meals for our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Food Safety and Quality: Monitor and document food temperatures to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Meal Preparation: Prepare breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily, adhering to our menu, recipes, allergies, and dietary restrictions.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Maintain sanitary conditions by cleaning storage, food preparation, and serving areas.
  • Housekeeping: Wash and dry dishes, take out trash, and clean the dining area as needed.
  • Deep Cleaning: Perform routine deep cleaning of the kitchen area, including sweeping/mopping the floor and cleaning equipment.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure a high level of health and safety, cleanliness, and food preparation practices are followed.
  • Client Interaction: Maintain professional boundaries with clients and interact with them in an appropriate manner.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Prior kitchen/restaurant experience preferred.
  • Certifications: ServSafe certification a plus.
  • Background Check: Must pass a State of Maine criminal background check.

Preferred Skills:

  • Health and Food Knowledge: Health, food, and sanitation knowledge.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal assistance.
  • Organization and Prioritization: Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
