Dishroom Attendant

Job Summary

Husson University is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Dishroom Attendant to join our team in the Dining Services Center. As a key member of our food service team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and efficiency of our dishroom operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain equipment, including dish machines, conveyor belts, and ware washing stations.
• Clear and sort waste materials from dishware, and transport clean dishware and silverware to service areas.
• Maintain separate dirty and clean areas to prevent cross-contamination, and ensure a clean and well-stocked work environment.
• Provide guidance and support to student employees in the utility and dishroom areas.
• Assist with production and service as needed, and participate in training and departmental functions.

Requirements

• Ability to operate and maintain production equipment, including dish machines and conveyor belts.
• Basic knife skills and ability to grill, sauté, roast, broil, and fry food.
• Knowledge of proper and safe time and temperature for food handling.
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Good customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and students.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in dishwashing in an institutional setting preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to stand and walk continuously, and frequently balance, crouch, and stoop.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, and push and pull equipment on wheels that weighs up to 150 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
