Job Title: HFC Engineer

Job Summary:

As a HFC Engineer at Olsson, you will play a crucial role in designing and optimizing Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) networks to deliver high-speed broadband services. This position involves creating network architectures, ensuring the efficient integration of fiber and coaxial components to meet performance and reliability standards.

Responsibilities:

* Create network architectures and ensure the efficient integration of fiber and coaxial components to meet performance and reliability standards.
* Sizing of serving boundaries using GIS address data; analyze, interpret, and organize large datasets.
* Determine feeder routes, distribution routes, and drops to premises by utilizing parcel, ROW, and easement documentation.
* Determine fiber and coax component allocations.
* Reviewing field staking sheets, as-Builts and field collected data to determine the optimal running line and construction method.
* Analyze aerial Imagery and general maps to identify existing utilities or potential obstructions; and produce and review high-quality constructible plan sets using GIS-based software.

Qualifications:

* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to multi-task.
* Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
* Ability to read, interpret, create maps and plan sets.
* Ability to edit and create PDF documents (Bluebeam or Adobe skills).
* Associate's/bachelor's degree in engineering/design or equivalent work experience.
* General knowledge in OSP construction methods and best practices.
* 3-6 years of Coax/HFC design experience.
* General knowledge of HFC, DOCSIS, and FTTx networks is required.
* Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Software products is preferred.
