Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Line Technician to join our team at Builders FirstSource. As an Assembly Line Technician, you will be responsible for performing repetitive assembly operations to mass-produce products such as windows, doors, trusses, panels, or stairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly Operations: Places parts in specified relationship to each other, bolts, clips, screws, cements, or otherwise fastens parts together.
  • Cutting and Measuring: Cuts products to specific measurements as needed.
  • Quality Control: Removes defective products as needed.
  • Maintenance: Tends machines to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
  • Flexibility: Works at different workstations as production needs require.
  • Adaptability: Works in environment where tasks change as varying models of product are produced.
  • Cleanliness: Cleans equipment, floors, and work areas according to safety procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: No specific education requirements.
  • Experience: Prior carpentry experience is helpful.
Competencies
  • Communication: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, write simple correspondence, and verbally express information effectively.
  • Mathematics: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, and read tape measure.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions, and deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
