About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Addiction Medicine Specialist to join our team at Knoxville Recovery Center.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will assess and evaluate the delivery of psychiatric and physical care to patients in the program, ensuring that services provided meet facility policies, Joint Commission standards, and local, state, and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and mental health evaluations.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans, emphasizing evidence-based interventions and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
  • Prescribe and manage medications for addiction and other health conditions, monitoring efficacy and side effects.
  • Provide ongoing patient education and counseling on substance abuse, health maintenance, and disease prevention.
  • Maintain up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare laws and regulations, including confidentiality and HIPAA.
  • Participate in continuous education, staff meetings, and case reviews to stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in addiction medicine.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
  • Experience in addiction medicine, psychiatry, or a related healthcare field preferred.
  • Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and other addiction treatment modalities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work compassionately with a diverse patient population.
