Clinical Nurse Specialist

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at the Center for Reproductive Medicine. As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide professional nursing care to patients in an outpatient clinic setting.
Responsibilities:
* Adhere to established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety standards.
* Cooperate with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, interdepartmental objectives, and infection control policies.
* Prepare patients for scheduled procedures and assist in patient assessment, accurately recording history and performing basic triage procedures per policy.
* Retrieve initial basic condition of patients, create nursing history, and report to appropriate practitioners.
* Demonstrate sensitivity to patients' comfort and privacy by using the AIDET fundamentals of communication.
* Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
* Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families during their visit.
* Monitor and ensure accuracy of recording on patient medical records, maintaining all required reports, records, statistics, etc.
* Ensure an adequate stock of supplies and well-maintained equipment.
* Inspect area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, taking corrective action when violations occur.
* Schedule all outside patient appointments per physician order and relay accurately to patients.
* Take calls from hospitals/nursing homes and relay appropriate information to practitioners in a timely manner.
* Assure test results are received and relayed to the patient in a timely manner.
* Complete medical orientation checklist.
* Initiate appropriate patient education.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
* Implement care appropriate to diagnosis and per physician order.
* Problem solve and coordinate clinic patient care with physician supervision.
* Demonstrate competence in performing skills to include appropriate delivery of care according to the age-specific needs of the population served.
Qualifications:
* Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.
* Minimum Experience: Prefer at least one (1) year of professional nursing experience.
* Licensure Requirement: Must have a valid Tennessee RN license. CPR and OSHA training annually.
Salary:
$65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
