Job Title: Registered Dietitian-WIC Specialist

Suffolk County Department of Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian-WIC Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Registered Dietitian-WIC Specialist will be responsible for providing nutrition education and counseling to WIC participants, as well as overseeing the nutrition and health assessment processes. This role will also involve working with other healthcare professionals to ensure the efficient flow of nutrition and health assessment processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to WIC participants
  • Oversee the nutrition and health assessment processes
  • Work with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient flow of nutrition and health assessment processes
  • Prescribe, tailor, authorize, issue/re-issue WIC food packages and special formulas prescribed by healthcare providers
  • Ensure compliance with NYS DOH and federal WIC regulations
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a college with federally-authorized accreditation or registration by NY State with a Bachelor's Degree
  • Status as a Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
