Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Electrical Engineer to join our growing Engineering and Design division in Denver. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for aligning customer needs with our engineering and design capabilities to deliver innovative solutions that meet our customers' needs and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Management
    • Identify resource needs to meet project deadlines and ensure timely delivery of projects.
    • Train and mentor junior engineers on design and technical topics to enhance their skills and knowledge.
    • Conduct quarterly goal plan reviews with direct reports to ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Design Management
    • Support the delivery of various Distributed Energy Resources (DER) projects, including solar and energy storage systems.
    • Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop best-in-class design delivery processes and standards.
    • Provide engineering analysis to support sales and early design efforts, ensuring that projects meet customer needs and company objectives.
    • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to drive business growth and revenue.
    • Coordinate with construction and estimating teams to reduce project costs and improve efficiency.
    • Support strategic Engineering and Design group initiatives as assigned.
    • Engage in all aspects of project planning and delivery, including proposal development and financial analysis.
  • Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
    • Professional Engineer registration and ability to acquire licensure in additional states.
    • Experience in the design and construction of Commercial and Industrial (C&I) solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, PV + storage systems, battery energy storage system (BESS) design, and microgrid designs.
    • Utility-scale PV system design experience preferred.
    • Ability to evaluate power systems and perform studies for arc flash, short circuit current, coordination, underground cable thermals, grounding, and load flow analysis.
    • Medium-voltage (15 kV and below) design experience required, protective relaying experience preferred.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Teams.
    • Working knowledge of Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD, and Revit.
    • Skilled in electrical analysis software (SKM, EasyPower, ETAP, etc.).
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Efficient time management and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
