IRS Tax Consultant Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IRS Tax Consultant to join our team in Melville, NY. The ideal candidate will have Active Enrolled Agent Certification in the state of NY.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and process change of address notifications and 8821 tax forms on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and prioritize accuracy in handling sensitive financial information.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to verify the clearance of change of address requests and the proper routing of funds.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to identify any potential discrepancies or errors in address information and resolve them promptly.
  • Develop and implement best practices for address monitoring, record-keeping, and tax form processing within the organization.
  • Train and educate staff members on IRS processes, address monitoring protocols, and relevant compliance requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to staff members, management, and clients on IRS-related matters and taxation concerns.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in IRS regulations, tax laws, and any modifications to the organization's internal procedures that may impact tax-related processes.
  • Act as a point of contact for IRS-related inquiries and communicate effectively with IRS representatives on behalf of the organization.
  • Assist with tax preparation and planning as needed, offering expertise in IRS regulations and tax compliance matters.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous work experience directly employed by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Comprehensive understanding of IRS processes, regulations, and tax codes is mandatory.
  • Strong familiarity with addressing monitoring protocols, change of address procedures, and IRS 8821 tax forms.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data and sensitive information.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to train and mentor staff members on IRS-related processes and compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address any discrepancies or issues that may arise during the tax-related processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex tax concepts to non-specialists.
  • Proficiency in relevant tax software, accounting tools, and MS Office applications.
  • Professional certifications such as Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
