Job Title: Licensed Veterinary Technician - Shelter and Surgery

Bideawee is a leading animal welfare organization that has been making a difference in the lives of pets and their owners since 1903. We are committed to providing high-quality care and services to animals in need, and we are seeking a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Licensed Veterinary Technician will provide medical care to in-patient and adoption center animals, performing tasks related to veterinary medicine, both technical and administrative. The successful candidate will have experience in shelter medicine and spay-neuter surgery, and will be able to work well in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality medical care to in-patient and adoption center animals
  • Perform tasks related to veterinary medicine, both technical and administrative
  • Assist in surgery at the discretion of the veterinarian
  • Maintain cleanliness in the kennel, prep room, and surgery areas
  • Controlled drug log recording
  • Inventory management
  • Client communication and education
  • Basic understanding or the ability to learn veterinary software programs
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in shelter medicine and spay-neuter surgery
  • NYS license required
  • Ability to restrain animals of all sizes, work with blood and feces
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Skilled, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work well in a team
