Senior Estimator Job Description

The Senior Estimator will play a crucial role in determining the total cost of a project by validating the project's scope of work. This position is based in the Colorado Springs area.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at Michael Page. As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing estimates and proposals for conceptual projects, complete assigned project estimates on established deadlines and priorities, and assist in performing value engineering of new or alternate materials, means and methods of construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare clear and effective proposals for review by the Lead Estimator for assigned projects according to standard processes.
  • Assist in soliciting or qualifying and qualify proposals from suppliers and/or subcontractors; participate in the procurement process, as directed.
  • Provide estimating assistance with Change Orders, as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate's degree in Construction or other appropriate field of study or 1-2 years related work experience.
  • Preferred 5+ year's experience estimating ground up projects in the construction industry.
  • Well-developed analytic and conceptual skills. Ability to read and interpret drawings, including schematic and conceptual formats. Knowledge of construction materials, means and methods. Attention to detail.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with Blue-beam, Quick-bid and OST software preferred.
