Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, documenting, installing, and maintaining a wide array of electronic communications systems and equipment. They will provide technical support, troubleshoot problems, and effect repairs using various tools and test equipment.

This includes routine preventative maintenance for conference and TV production facilities, radio systems, and TV post-production systems and equipment. Additionally, they will fabricate support where required, install, and maintain short and long haul signal distribution systems utilizing copper cable and fiber optic routing and switching.

The Digital Infrastructure Specialist will also provide advanced conference operation services to support audio and video teleconferences, fiber hub network feeds, Video Over Internet Protocol (VOIP), and satellite television broadcasts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and enhance in-house cable TV infrastructure
  2. Design and document AV systems, video conferencing, computer technology, networking, wireless, and data cabling standards
  3. Organize setups of weekly events in client conference rooms or offsite locations
  4. Install and configure Polycom and/or Tandberg videoconferencing products
  5. Train customers on the use of installed systems
  6. Liaise with clients to ensure seamless operations

Requirements:

  • Five years' experience in operation, repair, and installation of audio visual equipment
  • Possess relevant AV experience in projectors, video relay, broadcast, and design
  • Tech-savviness toward AV systems, video conferencing, computer technology, networking, wireless, and data cabling standards
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to orchestrate event setups
  • Good mechanical/fabrication and soldering skills are an asset
  • Ability to accurately read wiring diagrams
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and proven customer support skills
