Medical Assistant

The Certified Medical Assistant will collaborate with patients, physicians, and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care at Community Health Program Inc. This role requires a pleasant and welcoming personality, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will be willing to travel to various practices in Berkshire County, if needed, and may require some weekend work.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and escort patients to exam rooms, prepare patient for visit, and accurately obtain and record patient's vital signs.
- Assist providers with exams, diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, and direct patient following the visit.
- Perform EKGs, prepare laboratory requests, and retrieve lab results and x-ray reports.
- Vaccine administration and maintain professional certification/registration.
- Answer patient calls/messages, pre-register patients, and accurately obtain information to ensure patient is appropriately triaged.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent – completion of accredited Certified Medical Assistant program.
- Medical office experience and electronic medical records experience are a plus.
- Massachusetts Certified Medical Assistant Certification is required.
