Job Overview:

We are looking for a proactive and meticulous Risk Management professional who can identify and evaluate risks that may affect the State's procurements, projects, transactions, reputation, and compliance.

The successful candidate will work closely with risk management teams and government officials to formulate strategies and practices aimed at minimizing risks associated with projects and procurements.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the creation of processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Support claims handling and process development.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and vulnerabilities in contracts, procurements, projects, and leases.
  • Collaborate with risk management teams and executives to devise and implement action plans focused on reducing risk factors.
  • Collect and analyze information from multiple sources to evaluate the risk exposure of vendors.
  • Oversee and review the State's policies to ensure comprehensive coverage.
  • Conduct risk assessments and modify current operational methods to mitigate risks.
  • Evaluate procurements to determine insurance procurement requirements.
  • Assess alternative forms of insurance/indemnification and provide insights.
  • Act as an auditor to evaluate procurements, scopes of work, leases, and departmental requests.
  • Effectively communicate recommendations to employees regarding risk management strategies.
  • Provide analysis of insurance policy coverage.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of risk management policies and industry best practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • CPCU or CRM certification preferred.
  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for report preparation and policy development.

Additional Information:
This is a hybrid role requiring onsite availability. The estimated duration of the contract is eight months, with an annual compensation range of $147k-$161k.
