We are seeking a highly skilled Scientist to support our Therapeutic Discovery organization in Thousand Oaks, CA. As a key member of the Lead Discovery and Characterization Department, you will contribute to the development of new therapeutic agents.
Key Responsibilities- Cell-Based Assay Optimization: Optimize and perform routine cell-based assays to support lead identification and mechanism-of-action studies.
- Experiment Planning and Implementation: Semi-independently plan and implement experiments, adapting readily to changing project needs and developing sophisticated problem-identification and problem-resolution skills.
- Scientific Literature and Rationale: Maintain proficiency with the latest scientific literature and rationale surrounding drug targets and contribute to the interpretation of results in group discussions.
- Collaboration and Communication: Show excellent collaboration and communication skills, working closely with other scientists in the group and across the company.
- Adherence to Laboratory Conduct: Adhere to good laboratory conduct, documentation practices, and safety guidelines.
- Education and Experience: Ph.D. degree training in Cell and/or Molecular Biology or closely related field, or Master's degree (MS) and 2+ years relevant experience.
- Biopharmaceutical Experience: Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a biopharmaceutical setting and a desire to work in cross-functional environments.
- Cell-Based Screening Assays: Track record of developing, implementing, and performing cell-based screening assays in microtiter plates to support early drug discovery research.
- Mammalian Cell Culture: Experience and understanding in methods for the analysis of cells, proteins, and RNA.
- Subject-Matter Expertise: Subject-matter expertise in induced-proximity therapeutics, targeted protein degradation, or the ubiquitin-proteasome system.
- Time Management and Prioritization: Excellent time management skills and ability to establish priorities and meet timelines.
- Software and Statistical Platforms: Familiarity with software and statistical platforms for data analysis (GraphPad Prism, R).
