Key Responsibilities:

As a skilled Operating Room Nurse Clinician III at the University of Texas Medical Branch, you will possess the knowledge and expertise to provide safe and competent intraoperative patient care. Your role will involve actively acquiring knowledge and skills specific to patients undergoing surgical procedures, while practicing strong patient advocacy and diligence in the preoperative review of documents and verification of surgical procedures, site, and other critical safety checks prior to surgery.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Competent Clinician with knowledge and skill to meet standards for competent professional nursing practice as specified in the Texas Nurse Practice Act.
  • Experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled in specialty area, with the ability to function as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to problem-solve and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with physicians and other members of the surgical team.
  • Ability to manage unexpected or emergency situations that are commonly seen in assigned specialty population.

Requirements:

  • RN with two years of preferred clinical operating room, ICU, Cath Lab, and other procedural areas RN experience.
  • Must possess and maintain a current license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
  • Current BLS required.
