Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Duke Health Integrated Practice. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for performing pulmonary function testing, troubleshooting equipment, and managing clinic patients. You will also be involved in developing and delivering asthma and allergy patient education.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pulmonary function testing in children, including spirometry, plethysmography, diffusion studies, and 6-minute walk tests.
- Become familiar with CareFusion and Vyaire pulmonary function equipment and assist with troubleshooting.
- Provide pulmonary function training for non-RT staff and assist with clinic visits, including rooming patients and obtaining vital signs.
- Assist with developing and updating asthma and allergy patient education materials.
- Participate in maintaining the environment of care, including equipment and material resources.
- Identify clinical or operational performance improvement opportunities and assist in performance improvement activities.
- Completion of a 2-year AMA-approved respiratory care program or equivalent.
- Registry eligibility with the National Association for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
