Job Summary
El Paso Community College Cafe is seeking a qualified individual to provide instruction in medical laboratory technology. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching students in accordance with the college's philosophy and objectives.
Essential Functions
- Adhere to approved course syllabus and provide students with the course syllabus by the end of the first week of classes.
- Use teaching methods that are appropriate for students of varying educational backgrounds and learning styles, allowing students to continually assess their own progress.
- Submit syllabi and/or addendums to the Division Office by the end of the first week of class and maintain office hours as per institutional guidelines.
- Participate in faculty orientation sessions, professional development seminars, and activities to enhance professional development and acknowledge the college's mission to serve the community.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or directed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, or a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or Chemistry with ASCP certification.
- Three years of work-related experience exclusive of teaching, with ASCP Generalist certification, and experience teaching in the discipline, incorporating technology into the classroom, and teaching at the community college level.
Special Conditions
- This is a security-sensitive position, and the successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
