Job Title: Product Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team at Pure Power Technologies Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of technical products and systems, with a focus on fuel systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement technical products and systems, with a focus on fuel systems.
  • Coordinate with the Advance Engineering Supervisor to ensure the entire product life cycle of fuel systems is followed.
  • Coordinate activities to follow the product from design through risk assessments and compliance to regulatory requirements.
  • Apply GD&T and interpret tolerance & stack-up studies as needed.
  • Lead the step-by-step progress of the project and prepare detailed observation reports to ensure project conformity to initial design.
  • Assure product conformance through the creation of standard work and implementation of verification and validation processes.
  • Build new concept samples, coordinating procurement of hardware and fixturing required.
  • Subject matter expert on Advanced Manufacturing Processes (laser drill, friction weld, CNC, etc.).
  • Participate in drawings reviews, DFMEA, PFM, PFMEA meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal customers (i.e. Manufacturing and Quality Engineers) or external customers (i.e. concept layout, installation prints release) to identify improvements to designs.
  • Maintain project files and resource materials such as drawings, instruction manuals, test data, design criteria, and specifications.
  • Creating and maintaining process work instructions and operation sheets.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in manufacturing of high precision components for Automotive Industry, fuel injectors and pumps would be preferred.
  • Ability to make technical presentations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in design 3D models / drawings is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, & Power Point).
  • Able to work with minimal supervision, alone and/or in cross-functional teams.
  • Good physics knowledge, Mechanical Engineering education and experience is preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience with automotive/industrial fuel systems.
  • 2+ years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be knowledgeable of manufacturing processes and capabilities, and must have product development knowledge. Automotive product knowledge a plus.
  • Exposure to electromagnetic/magnetic circuits a plus.
  • CNC programming is a plus (i.e. MasterCam/Fusion).
