Job Title: Senior Quality Engineer

Beacon EmbeddedWorks is a leading provider of embedded solutions, and we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary

The Senior Quality Engineer will provide technical assistance and manufacturing support for all elements of product and process quality, including root cause analysis, data collection, and plans for incoming quality and audit lead.

Key Responsibilities
  • Document root cause and corrective action for internal and external issues
  • Support focused quality activities, including process control, root cause and corrective actions, documentation, and execution of systems, and inspection
  • Lead incoming quality, resolve vendor quality problems, FAIR, PPAP
  • Support receiving inspection activities as required
  • Help teams resolve quality problems
  • Review production quality data in a timely manner and address trends and data anomalies
  • Track and report on plant/team/cell and/or quality performance at pre-established intervals and report results
  • Participate in the coordination and performance of calibration requirements
  • Support and/or perform all manner of audits in support of organizational objectives
  • Champion the use of quality tools
  • Identify key process characteristics and help develop plans for process control and continuous improvement based on that information
  • Active member in internal and external Audits- ISO9001, 13485, and AS9100
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in technical or mathematics-related field
  • 3-5 years of experience working in an electronics manufacturing environment or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of SPC, preventive and corrective action practices
  • The ability to interface with customers and vendors is required
  • ASQ technician or engineer certification desirable
  • SMT experience preferred
  • Ability to use problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve problems
  • Knowledge of quality tools, including Pareto analysis, SPC (run charts, scatter diagrams, Histograms, normal probability charts)
  • Intermediate level PC-based skills - ERP, MS Office required. MS Access, MS Project, knowledge of ERP and PDM is a plus
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude required
  • Mathematical and statistical aptitude required
  • Ability to read, write, listen, and otherwise communicate and understand effectively in English is required
  • Strong oral and written communications skills are required
Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet, like that of an office setting. The noise level in the manufacturing area is moderate.
