Eye Care Technician

About the Role:

As an Optometric Assistant at U.S. Vision, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient service and ensuring the highest quality of care. We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-examination testing with accuracy and attention to detail, explaining all testing components to patients and addressing any questions they may have.
  • Utilize knowledge of basic ophthalmic medical terminology to complete patient workups, including auto-refraction, NCT, FDT, Optos, Zeiss OCT, and Humphrey Visual Fields.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records, ensuring a professional atmosphere and appearance of the doctor's exam lane and pre-test equipment.
  • Confirm appointments, contact and reschedule no-shows and cancellations, and be willing to cross-train to fill in and assist other staff members when needed.
  • Participate in business development plans to promote eye exams and accurately operate the cashier terminal when required.

Requirements:

  • Optical/Retail skills preferred
  • High School Diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or equivalent related job experience
  • Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills required, with EHR experience preferred
  • Ability to work with and service diverse people, demonstrating self-motivation, action-oriented, and creative problem-solving skills
  • Reliability and punctuality in attendance, flexibility for scheduling, and ability to work weekends, select holidays, and special sales events
  • Ability to meet the physical needs of the job and multitask in a busy work environment
