Job Summary:

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work under the general supervision of a Physical Therapist to perform treatments and procedures for patients ranging in age from child to geriatric. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct physical therapy evaluations and develop treatment plans based on patient assessment data.
  • Administer physical therapy treatments, including functional mobility training, balance training, and range of motion exercises.
  • Evaluate the effects of treatments and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of patient evaluations, treatments, and progress.
  • Supervise the work of Rehabilitation Aides and assist with the orientation and competency assessment of new staff members.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement activities and processes to enhance patient care and department operations.
Requirements:
  • Degree from an accredited PTA education program.
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Kansas.
  • CPR/AED/BLS certification.
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred.
