We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Inpatient Neuroscience team at Akron Children's Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive care to patients with complex neurological conditions.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with neurosurgeons, epileptologists, and physiatrists to manage patients with acute and chronic neurological conditions.
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients, while providing education to patients, families, and staff to ensure optimal care.
- Work autonomously within Ohio law under the supervision of a physician, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and diagnostic studies as needed.
- Develop treatment plans in collaboration with patients and their families, and perform diagnostic or therapeutic interventions consistent with certification and hospital privileges.
- Prescribe and monitor medications as allowed by Ohio law and hospital policy.
- Develop patient education plans and collaborate with nursing and medical teams to ensure quality patient care.
- Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant in the State of Ohio and current NCCPA certification.
- Supervision Agreement filed and current certificate to practice and prescribe (or eligible) by Ohio Board of Medicine.
- Credentialing as an active member of medical staff and appropriate medical staff privileges.
- Current Health Care Provider BLS training.
