Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Representative to join our team at AMM Healthcare. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, coordinating referrals, and ensuring seamless patient experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and greet patients, visitors, and healthcare providers in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Optimize patient satisfaction by scheduling appointments, collecting payments, and processing referrals in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Document patient inquiries and assign tasks to the appropriate individual, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Notify clinical staff of patient arrivals, review service delivery, and remind providers or patients of service delays.
  • Make referral appointments with specialty offices and obtain authorizations from various insurance companies.
  • Answer patient questions and concerns regarding referrals, including office locations and insurance acceptance.
  • Assist in transitioning patient care by scheduling appointments with specialists and sending medical records prior to appointments.
  • Complete tasks within a desirable timeframe to ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Communicate with providers to locate the appropriate specialist for patient needs and renew specialty referrals.
  • Maintain patient accounts in NextGen EHR by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Collect patient payments and verify insurance eligibility.
  • Protect patient rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal, medical, and financial information.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED)
  • 1-year experience working in a medical office setting
  • Referral experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel between Newport and Morehead City
  • Effective verbal and written communication on all levels and both internally and externally
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, organized, detail-oriented, and multi-tasker
  • Active listener with negotiation and response skills
