Position Overview:

The Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) is seeking a committed professional to become part of our team in the role of Residential Support Supervisor. With over five decades of experience in providing care for individuals with Autism, developmental disabilities, and special needs, DDI is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those we serve. In this supervisory role, you will oversee daily staff operations, mentor new team members, assess individual progress, and engage in collaborative meetings and training sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide staff activities while enforcing disciplinary measures as necessary.
  • Possess knowledge of emergency protocols and effectively manage crisis situations.
  • Achieve AMAP Certification within the initial 90 days of employment.
  • Provide training and mentorship to newly hired staff members.
  • Address staff-related concerns and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Record formal objectives and established protocols.
  • Implement individualized Behavior Plans.
  • Assess progress and develop new goals as needed.
  • Accompany individuals during medical appointments.
  • Complete and submit incident reports as required.
  • Engage in team meetings and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma is required; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Possession of a valid NYS driver’s license.
  • Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis and Positive Behavioral Support methodologies.
