Broadcast Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Broadcast Design Engineer to join our team at NEP Group. This individual will be responsible for designing and implementing technical systems for clients' projects, from concept to final drawings.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with Sales and Clients to Design a system that will support the clients' needs.
  • Create a complete Project Design which will be turned over to the client.
  • Develop pre-sale Build of Materials.
  • Creates, modifies and reads CAD drawings for project related documentation.
  • Develops detailed engineering drawings for rack layout, system wiring and custom plates or cabling assemblies.
  • Assists Sales in developing a thorough and concise job scope.
  • Maintains awareness of emerging solutions and technologies that may be applied to solutions.
  • Responsible for seeing that a pre-sale site survey is accomplished.
  • Develops cable pull lists when required.
  • Assists technicians with field questions and clarifications.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A degree in Electrical or Electronic engineering is preferred or a thorough and demonstrable understanding of systems integration techniques is preferred.
  • Minimum Ten (10) years of broadcast engineering experience is required.
  • Experience with SMPTE 2110 integrations, to include PTP, and NMOS knowledge.
  • Uses considerable judgment, independent action and initiative to analyze and resolve problems and make or develop recommendations.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to manage, direct and supervise staff.
  • Proficiency in the use of personal computers including such programs as MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to prepare and present presentations to clients and various levels of employee populations.
  • Demonstrates high level of organization and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle stressful situation; makes effective decisions under the pressure of time and with limited information.
  • Moderate amount of travel required, including occasional travel to other NEP facilities, customer and vendor sites and industry events.
