Millcreek Community Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Part-time Pharmacist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing prescribed medications, drugs, and other pharmaceuticals as needed for adequate patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Medication Order Review and Processing: Participate in accurate and efficient medication order review and order processing within the MEDITECH Health Information System.
- Medication Dispensing and Inventory Management: Ensure the accurate and prompt delivery of unit-dose medications and controlled substances to Pyxis machines and hospital inpatients. Maintain accurate records and inventory on all drugs as required.
- Centralized Intravenous Admixture Program: Participate in and supervise technical staff in the operation of the centralized intravenous admixture program. Ensure the accurate and efficient preparation and delivery of total parenteral nutrition solutions, antibiotics, and other medications for intravenous therapy.
- Controlled Medication Management: Supervise the accurate dispensing of all controlled medications and maintain an accurate log. Ensure all controlled medications are accounted for within the Pyxis machines.
- Drug Information and Education: Provide current and accurate drug information to health care professionals and patients. Train and supervise technical staff members in established policies and procedures for our hospital and department.
- Communication and Teamwork: Effectively communicate with physicians, nurses, purchasing technicians, pharmacy technicians, other hospital personnel, and hospital patients; thereby, promoting and ensuring rational drug therapy.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree following completion of a 5 or 6 year program from an ACDE accredited school of Pharmacy.
- License/Certification: PA license and current registration. Registered Pharmacist (Required). Licensed Pharmacist (Preferred).
- Experience: Pharmacy residency: 1 year (Preferred).
