Are you passionate about renewable energy and solar power systems? We are seeking a skilled Solar Field Operations Technician to perform corrective and preventative maintenance and commissioning activities across several solar plants, primarily in Minnesota with some out-of-state travel. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed electrician with experience in the electrical industry to join a growing team and make an impact in the renewable energy field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct visual inspections of mechanical and electrical components.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and communication issues.
- Safely operate electrical systems up to 1500VDC and identify safety issues.
- Complete work orders and document tasks daily.
- Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Be available for on-call scheduling and travel on short notice.
- Lead apprentices and laborers as needed, while maintaining a high level of safety.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Navigate monitoring platforms to identify plant performance issues.
Requirements:
- Minnesota Licensed Electrician (Journeyman or Master).
- Minimum of 5 years in the electrical industry.
- Valid driver's license with a history of safe driving.
- Ability to travel locally and regionally with some overnight stays.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of DAS, SCADA, thermal imaging, and IV Curve Tracing.
- Familiarity with solar commissioning and fiber optic, network, and communication systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
